Stenocarpus sinuatus or the firewheel tree is among Australia's most beautiful flowering native plants.
It is a rainforest tree from the Protea family. "Firewheel" is a reference to the magnificent, bright red, wheel shaped flowers that bloom through summer. Deep green leaves off set the flowers and woody, boat shaped, fruit carries its seeds.
